This collection is composed mostly of literary, business and personal correspondence from the years 1998-2000. It also includes early poems and essays from Rogers' college years, drafts of poems and essays from works written in 2000, an unpublished interview with Bill Yake, reviews, and a curriculum vita.

Pattiann Rogers was born in Joplin, Missouri, in 1940. She graduated from the University of Missouri in 1961 and from the Univeristy of Houston, with a M.A. in creative writing, in 1981. Her first book, The Expectations of Light, was published in 1981. Rogers has received numerous literary awards, including NEA fellowships, Pushcart Prizes, awards from the Texas Institute of Letters and the Lannan Foundation. She lives in Colorado with her husband.
